The Hi-Desert Medical Center is a modern, nonprofit 55-bed acute primary
care hospital providing a wide range of quality inpatient and outpatient
diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation services. The Medical Center is a
primary provider of health services in the Morongo Basin, serving a
population of more than 58,000. Patients benefit from technologically
advanced treatments all in a comfortable, convenient setting located in
Joshua Tree, California.
The Hi-Desert Medical Center has more than 100 physicians in 25
medical specialties, and 500 employees. Licensed by the State of California
and fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care
organizations and the California Medical Association, the hospital holds
membership in the California Association of Hospitals and Healthcare
Systems, the Hospital Council of Southern California.

Ambulatory care programs
In 1990, the
Hi-Desert Continuing Care Center (CCC) was completed. The Center provides 86
long term care resident beds specializing in transitional care and 34
sub-acute beds. Both facilities provide a beautiful view of the surrounding
desert in a clean air environment.
Services at the hospital's Airway Outpatient Center in Yucca
Valley include outpatient surgery, mammography, laboratory, and X-ray.
The Hi-Desert Behavioral Health Center, the Special Additions
prenatal clinic, and Hi-Desert Home Health and Hospice round out the
hospital's ambulatory care programs.

History
Hi Desert Medical Center was built in 1976.
In 2002, the Hi-Desert Medical Center celebrated its 25th anniversary of
bringing quality health care to the residents of the Morongo Basin. The
Hospital was born of a consolidation of two previously existing hospital
districts: The Hi-Desert Memorial Hospital in Yucca Valley and the
Twentynine Palms Hospital District merged to create the present
organization.

Birthing Center
Growing along with the community is a major goal at the Hi-Desert Medical
Center.
The Hospital's new Special Addition is the Family Birthing Center.
Building on the hospital's reputation for providing quality
health care, the center provides complete health care services for women
of all ages, with special emphasis on enhancing the birthing experience in a
supportive and educational setting.
