Mission Statement

The Morongo Basin Cultural Arts Council, Inc. is a broad-based coalition of artists -- All who create and perform in all mediums -- And friends of the arts.

MBCAC's mission is to
Engage the community and enhance the cultural and economic health of the region.
It accomplishes that purpose through a range of activities and initiatives, large and small, local and regional.

Here are some examples :
     * Raising public awareness of the diversity and value of local art and artists by inventorying and publicizing the artistic assets of the region.
     * Providing opportunities for artists and friends of the arts to gather, share, and celebrate.
     * Advocating a heightened role for the arts in school curricula and community programs.
     * Encouraging artists to show their work and patrons to support them through attendance.
     * Demonstrating the value of the performing and visual arts to the general economy.
     * Obtaining financial support for artistic programs through public and private grants.
     * Collaborating with all organizations in the Morongo Basin to facilitate the inclusion of a cultural dimension in their activities.
     * Giving local entities a tangible way to show their support for the community arts agenda.
     * Creating and maintaining artistic and cultural links beyond the region, especially in the desert southwest.

ALL WHO CREATE OR PERFORM, IN ANY MEDIUM, AND ALL WHO VALUE SUCH WORK, ARE ENCOURAGED TO JOIN .
