ED'S TRAINS

My name is Edwin Hill and I live in Joshua Tree, California.

This is the story of a layout I started back in March of 1993. The set is in HO scale and is in 5 sections. First of all I bought 2 layout books and found a layout which would fit the space I had. The first section is 2 feet wide and 10 feet long. Origionally I had built a two level table and connected them with a 4% grade; but after several accidents spilled loads and wrecking a $40 locomotive, I decided that that was enough. I tore it all out and made it level with the first section. I then shortened it to 9 feet because that was all the room I had. That was the second section. I then mesured and found I had space for another section, which is the third section, and it was 4 feet wide and 4 feet long. There was still space by the door so I added the fourth section which is 2 feet wide and 3 feet long. I was then urged to build another section so I could go clear around thr room. That would connect sections 1 and 3. I had to go across a sliding closet door. I decided to build it first wide enough for a track. It was first 2 inches wide and about 9 feet long. I also decided to build a passing track. I also built a passinger yard. I had a station, but no cars; so I plan on buying 6 cars. I also plan to landscape as much as I can. I have also built roads and overpasses. This layout based on a logging theam and all the various ideas connected with logging. I have 3 loco's and about 48 cars. I have always been interested in logging.
