Morongo Basin Ambulance is a community, non-profit, non-tax supported association providing emergency ambulance transportation to all residents in the Morongo Basin.

Morongo Basin Ambulance is governed by a Board made up of business and retired people who donate their time and reside in the high desert communities, and are elected by members of the Association.

There are several features that are unique to this ambulance service. While the Morongo Basin Ambulance Association is a private company, it has operated as a non-profit service since its inception in 1948. There are no owners that depend on its revenue for a living. Rather, monies taken in over and above operating costs remain in the company to improve service, provide better membership benefits and fund such service oriented programs as its community sponsorships.

Morongo Basin Ambulance offers a membership plan to any individual for $50 a year and any family for $105 a year.

Another benefit to the public is that the ambulance service receives absolutely no tax dollars to substain its operations.

Paramedics of MBA are trained to State required standards. Each paramedic is also trained to provide extensive trauma care, and are referred to as "trauma medics".

With eight ambulances, five of which are fully staffed 24 hours a day, the Association is able to meet the normal flow of daily emergency calls. In the event of a disaster, the extra ambulances could be staffed in a short period of time to assist in the care and transportation of the sick and injured.
