Big cheerful ROY WILLIAMS was born in Coleville, Washington.
He is a Los Angeleno by early adoption In Fremont High School, he majored
in art and was
the school cartoonist. His laugh quotient was high even then.
Over 40 years ago he got his first job from WALT DISNEY, being hired
personally by the producer.
For three years Wait paid for his training at the Chouinard Art School
in Los Angeles.
"This ruined my football career at the University of Southern California,"
says Roy, with mock lament.
The gridiron's loss, however, was Hollywood's gain.
During his years with the studio as art director and writer, Williams left
a distinctive mark on many a Disney film.
He created for himself a modern style of caricature. which is evident in
his drawings and designs.
Roy did the original script for the Mickey Mouse Club T.V. Show. He also
invented and designed the Famous Mickey Mouse Ear Hat.

Wait put Roy on the Mickey Mouse Club T.V. Show, where he gained popularity
as "The Big Masticator".
Roy was then sent across the U.S.A. and Canada, as a Good-Will Ambassador.
Appearing in schools and on T.V. shows, drawing the Disney cartoon
characters on a big easel, to promote the Disney films.
During World War One, Roy designed insignias for the Armed Forces. Among
the most popular were the Flying Tigers, Sea Bees, and P.T. Mosquito Boat.
Roy's art work and designs have appeared in LIFE, THE NEW YORKER, and
HEARST PUBLICATIONS. As a hobby, Roy drew for the New Yorker, resulting
in the publication of several cartoon books.
Through it all, Roy never forgot that he owes everything to WALT DISNEY.
His feelings are best expressed in the dedication of one of his books.

BEST OF ROY WILLIAMS".
In private life Roy is a good family man, happily married for over
thirty-five years
to his wife Ethel. They have one daughter. Maureen, now Mrs. Park
Richardson of Del Mar, Calif., and a 10 year old grand daughter, Suzanne.
Roy is still with the Walt Disney Studios, as consultant.
Recently Roy has gone into the T-shirt, novelty, and toy business, with
two old friends, Noble McClure and "Sandy" Sanders. Their company is
FUNITIME INK.
And as its president, Roy assures all that everything will be done in HIGH
QUALITY AND GOOD TASTE.
