| The Morongo Basin
Station, the second largest station geographically and
third in calls for service, provides law enforcement
services to a population of over 53,000 people and covers
in excess of 5,200 square miles. Included in the service
area is the incorporated City of Twentynine Palms, the
incorporated Town of Yucca Valley, and the communities of
Morongo Valley, Landers, Johnson Valley, Joshua Tree,
Wonder Valley, Amboy and Cadiz. In addition, the Morongo
Basin is the home of the Marine Corp's Air Ground Combat
Center and the Joshua Tree National Park. The station, which is located in the County Law and Justice Complex in the community of Joshua Tree, is the base of operation for the two contract and the county law enforcement operations. In addition, the complex holds our regional Type I jail facility, both the Municipal and Superior Courts, and the local Marshal and District Attorney offices. |
