Bernardino County District Attorney's Office is headed by
Disrict Attorney Michael Ramos who came to office in 2003.
Michael Ramos is head of the Criminal Division. Because San Bernardino is the largest county in the United States, the District Attorney's Office has several branch offices to meet the needs of the county. In addition to San Bernardino, they are: Joshua Tree (for the Morongo Basin),Fontana, Redlands, Rancho Cucamonga, Chino, Victorville, and Barstow. Public safety is of major interest and concern to the residents of San Bernardino County as well as to the District Attorney's Office. To address these concerns the District Attorney has implemented several new programs. They are: The Check Restitution Program, The Grand Theft Auto Prosecution Team, and an aggressive policy regarding prosecution of "Three-Strikes" cases.
