Zero Tolerance PolicyState and Federal legislation and local Board Policy require our school district to expel any student who commits one of the following four acts during school hours, while going to or from School, or while at a school activity:

Other Offenses for which a Student Shall be referred to board of Education for Expulsion DecisionIn an effort to maintain safe and orderly schools, students shall be recommended for expulsion for the following acts, unless the principal or superintendent finds, and reports in writing that expulsion is inappropriate due to partcular circumstances:
The Governing Board makes the final decision on all expulsion recommendations. Certain infractions must be reported to law enforcement. Law enforcement officials may interview students on campus. Every effort will be made to notify parents when this occurs. Reference: MUSD Board Policy 5144.1 and 5131.7 |
