Medical Policies
- There is an itinerant nurse available at our school one day a week.
- If ill, children will be sent to the nurse's office and a parent will be
contacted if your child is unableto return to class.
- It is our desire that students are in the classroom as much as possible
receiving their education, however, any child seriously ill will be sent
home.
- Cough drops, vitamins, lip balm, inhalers or other non-prescription
medicines are not allowed at school.
- IF YOUR CHILD NEEDS TO TAKE MEDICATION DURING SCHOOL HOURS, A DOCTORS
NOTE IS REQUIRED AND ALL MEDICATIONS MUST BE IN A LABELED PRESCRIPTION
BOTTLE. MEDICATION MUST BE TRANSPORTED BY AN ADULT. WE ARE UNABLE TO MAKE ANY EXCEPTIONS TO THIS POLICY. THERE IS A FORM IN THE OFFICE FOR THE DOCTOR TO COMPLETE.
Student Insurance
- There is special student accident insurance available through the
school for parents who do not have other health insurance. There is a minimal charge for this "mail-in" insurance coverage and may want to be considered by those not covered by other medical plans.
- This covers accidents incurred during school activities.
- Forms are sent home with students at the beginning of the school year
and are available, anytime, in the school office.

concentrating on flexibility, endurance, arm strength and abdominal

Emergency Planning
- Emergency drills are held monthly.
- Earthquake drills are held approximately once each quarter.
- Buses will probably not take students home during emergencies, however,
please be assured that your child's school staff are trained, prepared
and able to accommodate students and their needs if an actual emergency
should arise.
- You will be asked to fill out a yellow disaster card every year with
pertinent information.
- In the event of a disaster, students will be held at the school until
they can be picked up by their parent, guardian or other person
authorized on the student's yellow disaster card.
- The school has water, food and other disaster supplies stored for our
children's use.
- The staff and students are continually educated and trained in disaster
preparedness, first aid and C.P.R.
