Music Program

  • The District provides an Instrumental Music Instructor two mornings a week at FHES. Neil Overbay is the band director.
  • He provides instruction to fourth, fifth and sixth grade students, along with advanced band for seventh and eigth graders. Instruction includes fundamentals of tone production, instrumental technique and music theory. The purpose of the elementary music program is to not only give students an appreciation of music and the opportunity to perform, but to prepare them to participate in music programs at the Junior High and High School levels.
  • Advanced band students meet at the end of the school day, Monday through Thursday, while beginning band students meet before the school day on Monday and Friday.
