Children who grow up in a home with family violence often never learn to express their feelings in a positive direction. Through playgroups and the Arts, Unity Home's Children's Program can assist these children in breaking the cycle of violence in their lives. Children who grow up in violent homes have a 74% higher likelihood of being violent themselves, or of becoming victims of domestic violence. Unity Home's Childrens Program stresses non-violence and self-esteem at a level a child can comprehend. Many child victims of domestic violence have witnessed and/or experienced firsthand emotional, physical, sexual, verbal and substance abuse within there own families.
