The Joshua Basin Water District is a public agency which was formed in 1963. The District includes 96 square miles in southwestem San Bernardino County, California. The water supply is high quality ground water obtained from District-owned wells. The water system presently consists of approximately 220 miles of mainlines, four wells and 15 reservoirs and serves approximately 4,000 customers..

The mission of JBWD is to: PROVIDE a high standard of water quality and customer service at responsible cost; PROTECT the water resources of the District; and PROMOTE cooperation and respect with customers, employees neighboring communities and publicfprivate agencies..

The District is regulated by the State Water Code and governed by a five- member elected Board of Directors. District operations are managed by a General Manager who is appointed by the Board of Directors. The District employs 16 staff members with four individuals in management, seven in the field and five in the office..

The office is open from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Board Meetings are held the first and third Wednesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at the District office and the public is invited to attend. The Board Meetings are televised on local cable TV Channel 6 on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 8:00 p.m. The office is located at 61750 Chollita Road in Joshua Tree, on the comer of Park Boulevard and Chollita Road, north of the entrance to the Joshua Tree National Park.
